About
Health examinations are designed to detect diseases at an early stage. They include medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests and specific tests according to age and gender. Immunizations are reviewed and refreshed. Recommendations vary by country and individual factors. Regular medical consultations are important.
Internal medicine check-ups are comprehensive medical examinations to evaluate overall health. They include medical history, physical examination, blood tests to check blood count, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, and cardiovascular parameters. Other tests may include EKG and ultrasound. These check-ups are used to detect risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease. They enable early treatment and prevention of serious diseases. The frequency of such check-ups depends on individual factors and medical guidelines. A visit to the doctor for advice on the appropriate examinations is recommended.
General vaccinations and travel medicine play an important role in protecting against infectious diseases. General immunizations include routine vaccinations such as tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, polio, hepatitis A & B, and influenza. Travel medicine vaccinations are recommended for specific destinations, such as yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis A and meningococcal. These vaccinations help reduce the risk of illness at home and abroad. It is advisable to seek medical advice well in advance of travel to obtain the required vaccinations according to current recommendations.
Ultrasound diagnostics, also called sonography, is a medical procedure for imaging internal organs and tissues using ultrasound waves. An ultrasound device generates sound waves that are reflected by body tissue. These reflected sound waves are picked up by a sensor and converted into an image. Ultrasound allows for the examination of organs such as the heart, liver, kidneys, pancreas, thyroid, as well as vessels, and allows for the detection of changes, tumors, or inflammation. The method is non-invasive, painless and usually without radiation exposure.
Exercise ECG, also known as ergometry or stress test, is a diagnostic method to assess heart function during physical activity. It involves recording an electrocardiogram (ECG) while exercising on a bicycle or treadmill. Exercise can reveal hidden heart problems, such as circulatory problems or arrhythmias, that may not occur at rest. The exercise test helps evaluate physical fitness, monitor heart function during exercise, and assess the effectiveness of certain treatments for heart disease.
