About
Various diseases of the retina can be treated effectively and gently using lasers. These include: Diabetic retinopathy, branch retinal vein occlusion/ central retinal vein occlusion, retinal holes and retinal degenerations (precursors of retinal holes).Laser treatment is painless and can be performed directly in the office. Microsurgical insertion of medication completes the treatment spectrum for the following conditions: Wet macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, branch retinal vein occlusion/ central retinal vein occlusion.
Medical and cosmetic eyelid surgery is preferably used for the following changes: Eyelid malpositions (ectropion/entropion) drooping eyelids (dermatochalasis), benign as well as malignant eyelid tumors (eyelid warts, styes, basaliomas).
In addition to eye drops, modern laser techniques are also used to lower intraocular pressure. These include YAG laser iridotomy and SLT laser technology (selective laser trabeculoplasty). These procedures can also be performed directly in the practice.
Sometimes after cataract surgery there is opacification of the capsule, but this can be treated quickly. This is where YAG capsulotomy comes in. This treatment is also performed in the practice.
For many eye diseases (macular degeneration, glaucoma), early detection is very important to avoid late damage. These can be diagnosed painlessly using high-resolution equipment: OCT ( optical coherence tomography) for high-resolution imaging of retinal and optic nerve head structures OCT - angiography for non-invasive and painless imaging of retinal vessels.
